The nobility of the building was reinstated by restoring its “original” envelope (ceiling height, moldings, paneling, etc.) and thus reconnecting the building with its clientele, in search of elegance and discretion. The former bourgeois decorative language was replaced by a form of “opulent” purity, a move upmarket which took on the characteristics of a distinguished residence, open to modernity and discreet luxury.
